1.模板句型

首段：

I look forward to your prompt response.

2.全文格式模板

称呼语，

（1）表示求助，避免套话。

例：

I am quite sorry that I have to ask a favor of you, with the hope that you will be kind to help me.

（2）说明求助的具体原因及解决问题的办法。

例：

I have been looking forward to applying for...

（3)表示感谢。

例：

It would be much appreciated if you could help me.

3.参考范文

Directions:

You want to study further for a Masters degree and you are preparing for the entrance exam.Since you have difficulty in English, you should write a letter around 100 words to ask for help from your good friend Tim. You do not need to write the address.

例文：

Dear Tim,

(1) I am quite sorry that I have to ask a favor of you, with the hope that you will be kind to help me.

(2) I have been looking forward to applying for the entrance examination for MA

candidates for a long time because I want to pursue further studies. Unfortunately I find myself far from the required standard, especially my very poor English. The personal friendship leads me to approach you with the request whether you can give me some constructive guidance. I promise to be a diligent student. If you agree, I hope I can visit you to study English twice a week. Please call me as soon as you are convenient.

(3) It would be much appreciated if you could help me.
