二、第二步，抓主干识修饰

主句：more than three million doses是主语，were to be made available是谓语，in early October 2009是时间状语，翻译时候需要前置。到2009年10月初，超过300万试剂能投入使用。

让步状语从句：无需调整语序的结构，直接顺译。尽管大多数初期试剂是喷鼻型。

四、第四步，依逻辑组整句

整个句子结构为，主句，让步状语从句(其中嵌套了定语从句)，所以让步状语从句(嵌套了定语从句)应该前置翻译，最后翻译主句。翻译为：尽管大多数初期试剂是喷鼻型，这种类型不被推荐给孕妇、50岁以上的人或有呼吸困难、心脏病及其他疾病的人，到2009年10月初，有超过300万试剂能投入使用。

通过调整及美化，句子翻译为：尽管大多数初期试剂是喷鼻型，这种类型不适用于孕妇、50岁以上的人或有呼吸困难、心脏病及其他疾病的人，但是到2009年10月初，有超过300万试剂能投入使用。
